be an ice storm, all of garrett county, down into allegheny county, yeah, some problems today with ice and snow that will move in. take a look at maryland's most powerful radar overhead right now. but back down to the south, this is where the outer fringes of this storm is starlgt to -- starting to roll toward the north, just about three hours outside of the city. we are pinpointing arrival about 8:00 this morning. so the bottom line is everyone will start as a burst of some snow. it's a rapid change to rain from the city on points to the south and east and could be a pretty dicey situation with ice to the north and west, right along 83 heading out toward the north and the west. we'll talk about that coming up through the show. here's storm number one for today. take a look back out to the west coast, that is storm number two. that could bring us maybe some snow as we go into the weekend. so futuretrend showing the rain and then here comes, again, the heavy rain during the course of the afternoon before everything lifts off toward the north and to the east as we go into your day today.

of hagerstown toward frederick and some light snow flurries showing up in the western part of garrett county. it is very minimal. most of the area is dry especially over baltimore and the eastern shore and it will stay that way into the afternoon it would just be one drop of rain. that is good news for the afternoon commute. the winds are a little bumpy. you might have to grit your steering well as receive wind gusts up to 26 miles per hour at the airport and near 30 miles per hour in gaithersburg and hagerstown. it is very windy out there and the winds are coming from the west down the mountains and this helps to warm the air. it goes down the mountain in the air compressors and that causes it to warm. that is why you are seeing warm conditions east of the mountains but everywhere west is much colder, only 32 degrees in oakton. the temperatures rise going toward the east where we have the upper 50's. there's also some colder air pushing in against the mountain and that will arrive our way tonight into tomorrow. expected temperatures to drop down tonight. after reaching the low 60's this aft

a taste of winter. snow has been falling in garrett county. and schools were closed on friday because of the white covering. residents say the weather is pretty tame compared to what else they've seen so far this year. they had the big storm during sandy. >>> close to baltimore, it is chilly. the wind is kicking o out there. it feels really cold but no snow so far. meteorologist bernadette woods is here. >> there's always a chance of a white christmas. we're going to take you through the wind gusts a. few flurry but that was it. marshal coming in at 44 miles per hour, and everyone was up there this afternoon. there's been some come down considerably. we're getting rid of the storm, the wind gusts under 20 miles per hour except out west and overnight those are going to die down, other than a brief tomorrow we're done with this round. we have a few storms move our way, one on monday. for the most part rain showers, but maybe something white for some of under the influence. details coming up in the -- some of the details coming up in the forecast.

a teenager. a 16-year-old tarsha jackson was crossing the garrett avenue at first street nw when she was hit by a car friday night. was she was lying on the road, she was hit by a second vehicle. the driver of the car remained, but the suv driver kept going. she was rushed to the hospital but died of injuries over the weekend. investigators are speaking out about a bus crash in oregon that left nine tourists dead. this happened yesterday at a dangerous mountain pass on an already icy interstate. the driver of the bus lost control, skidded into a guardrail, and then plummeted down 100 foot embankment. the steep, with terrain made it very difficult to reach the survivors. >> there was so much snow on the ground that it made its treacherous. so we used a haul system to get the patients from the car site back up to the highway. >> there were returning to vancouver after a tour. the owner of the bus company has not commented yet. police in montgomery county have canceled their silver alert this known. they had been looking for 77- year-old mrs. tyler after she was last seen yesterday morning in g
